Missions and Visions
Zoo Negara Malaysia is under the Malaysian Zoological Society, a non-governmental organization built to create the first local zoo for Malaysians. Zoo Negara was officially opened on 14th November 1963 and has become famous since then. There are a total of over 5137 specimen from 476 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians and fish.
Zoo Negara covers 110 acres of land which is located only 5km from the city of Kuala Lumpur. Over the years, zoo negara has transformed into a world-wide zoo that has 90% of its animal being kept in a wide exhibits landscape nature. We are working to improve the zoo and making sure that the concept doesn’t change.
